Why do male dogs pee on pregnant women?

My friend Alyce is pregnant with her third child. For some reason occasionally when she is around male dogs, they tend to dribble purpously pee on it. This happened with several dogs during multiple pregnancies, and I heard other women having the same problem. Why?

I do not know, but here's what I think: They were probably able to detect hormones and want to brand as their own.
