For most people, buying a puppy is an exciting event. The cubs are cute and fun to your side. However, without proper training, your cute, fun puppy can become a dog you wish you had not. The cubs have not learned manners and basic commands can be very difficult manage when they become adult dogs who have no respect for you or someone in your family.
I think that most dogs want their happy owners and even some of the most stubborn dogs can be activated with a lot of patience and proper training. I'm not talking about dogs that are really dangerous because one reason or another. Most dogs who are considered rebels or uncontrollable, have never had any training whatsoever. A little basic training sit, stay, down and let it can do wonders for many dogs.
Before deciding that today is the day you start training your dog, there are some things you should consider before you start. I personally believe that the training methods only based on positive reinforcement should be used. Hitting your dog or what caused pain, while "training" it does not work. It ends with a dog who is resentful and has no desire to listen to you or respect. Hit your dog can actually backfire and make your dog very aggressive and prone to attack you. Dogs that are likely to be submissive urination can start whenever it receives close to them as a sign of submission.
If your dog is behaving in an unacceptable manner, not only ignoring the behavior, because only continue to act in this way. If you take your dog to do something that he does not want to draw your attention and say no. Then try to redirect their attention to more acceptable behavior. For example, they call you and reward when he comes to you.
Get into the habit of rewarding positive behaviors when you see them. For example, if your dog barks at every noise you hear, get their attention and tell him quiet the next time you start to bark. If he listens, say good dog. The more you can find good behavior reward, rather than his dog try to get your attention with good behavior.
Remember, never punish your dog when he comes to you. The fact that your dog will come to you is positive and wants to continue. If you call your dog and then punish him when he comes or if we keep doing something nasty when it comes, how to manage medicine or clip toenails, stop coming to you at all! This could be a serious safety issue if your dog whenever you are away or you need to come to you quickly in an emergency.
Remember, the most effective way to train your dog is the reward for good behavior. Punishing your dog rarely functions and can lead to a dog who will not listen to you and not want to interact with you.
