A dog who has mastered the "stay" is always a well-bred dog and safely. This command can be very useful in many situations and is not as difficult as you might think to teach your dog. Before you attempt to start this training, make sure that your dog responds to his name already and also knows the sit command "or" down command, it is very important and it is foundations for any type of obedience training. Some consider May sit and stay about the same or useless, because they take responsibility in administering the sit command should be enough for your dog stay. This is not so much because most commands that you'll be around until you allow your dog to remain free. Once left alone the dog's natural instinct to follow their leader.
- Have take your dog to "sit" or "down" position, show or even let him smell his treatment Favorites
- Start to put the deal on the ground (your dog moves as he / she sees you making treatment down) as your dog begins to rise, to administer correction word "Stay" and pull the treatment of the hotel.
- Tell your dog to sit again, then Place the treat on the ground. If he tries to move again, give the verbal correction and pull the treatment of the hotel. Your dog will start understand that the movement denies him the treat.
- Once your dog does not move quickly to resume the processing and reward giving it to him. Now it will start to understand that he is rewarded for not moving. As you dog is better you can do it longer and beyond.
Some notes to remember
To do this training when your dog is not any liquidation, its difficult to do while your dog is hyper. After jogging and walking is perfect
Ensure the training environment is free from distractions.
Do not overwhelm your dog. Training should take a few minutes.
Practical training in different places, remember distractions.
Have patience, consistency is key to training your dog. do not expect to understand everything the first day.
