We believe that Greater Swiss Mountain Dog is the largest of the descendants of the dogs were brought in the Swiss Alps by the legions of Caesar on his march across Europe. His short coat also makes him a keeper "easy" in terms of coat care, (as opposed to some other races, which draw the carts but are more many issues that grooming Swiss.) It has an even temper and a love for children, families and all others. This is a friendly and affectionate dog with a stable temperament and a desire to please people, it's quite a dog who learns quickly with an enthusiastic attitude and yet a peaceful and calm manner. It is a race that has become a favorite for those families who have had the pleasure of owning one.
