Yorkshire Terriers, commonly known as Yorkies are one of the most popular breeds of toys. They make good companions and love attention! They are very affectionate, but takes time and dedication of their owners.
This race is only about 100 years. It was developed in northern England to catch rats that lived in mine shafts. It has also been used as a hunting dog that could go into the burrows of foxes and badgers. It is not clear, however, how they developed this breed. We think they had to cross as Skye Terriers Clydesdale and with other terriers, as the Leeds, Maltese, Dandie Dinmont and the Black and Tan Manchester. The Yorkie was bred originally much greater than it is now, but people have selectively bred the smallest dogs to make this little dog. He became a dog fashion and has often been carried by women in their bags. Today, the average weight of this dog is seven pounds.
The Yorkie like it was very silky, long coat that some parties at the spine and develops on each side of the dog. Unlike many other breeds, the hair of this breed is growing. It must be cut regularly. It does not have an undercoat which prevents pay. That's fine if you have allergies, because you will not have to worry about hair being everywhere. The coat is blue and beige, but the puppies are black and tan. As the dog arrives in mature black becomes blue.
Although the Chihuahua is very small, these dogs seem oblivious to this. They do not seem afraid of anything! They are very adventurous, energetic, loyal, playful, courageous, gentle, affectionate and intelligent. Yorkies are very affectionate with their owners but are often suspicious Strangers when they come around. If other small animals come around, they may even be aggressive. This race is very dependent and requiring owners. It needs more human attention than most breeds. This dog makes a great lap dog and enjoys being held all day, more than anything.
The Yorkie is not good with small children, but will tolerate older children if they deal with the dog care. The dog can be territorial and likes to have his own space. Yorkies learn things very easily but can become a volunteer who makes training difficult. You must be firm and consistent when training. They can also be difficult to domesticate. This breed does best with praise because they love the attention and hates to be ignored.
One of the most demanding needs of this is dog grooming. It needs to be brushed every day. The hair must be brushed and eyes and ears should be cleaned. Also, the teeth should be cleaned regularly. The hair on top of head is usually tied with a bow or a belt.
Because of the small chihuahua, she is very fragile and must be handled with care. It can break down easily and must be monitored. They are also prone to teeth problems so you need to make sure you take care of their teeth.
This dog has done an excellent companion who will give you lots of love. Make sure you have time to devote to this dog because they require much of your time. If you love the dog properly, it can live for twelve to fifteen years.
