Shetland Sheepdog – Sheltie

As summer leaves us and unique challenges, comes with a cool autumn breeze and the crisp night and a unique set of hazards to the fall of our canine friends.
Acorns and Oak Leaves - This is a first for me, but real. Some dogs like much of acorns, the problem is that acorns are toxic to dogs. At first it was, if there is no water, with oak leaves on it, can be poisonous too. So advise your dog to leave the acorns of squirrels and not drinking puddle!
Leave Piles - Children and dogs seem to love those we see piles of leaves this time of year, at least in some parts of the USA. Be careful though, do not know what else has picked up in the creation of such cell or what creatures might be there.
Hibernating animals - Although probably not in hibernation, however, may raise a claim to the house and began the installation. Areas of the yard or trails that were safe in the summer and may not be ideal, so beware of places that someone might be planning to call home this winter.
Allergies - The fact that summer is gone, does not mean that all allergies are too. Autumn has its own set of plants and pollen that may affect your dog and, for that matter. So keep an eye out for itchyness, sneezing and watery eyes,
Halloween - Here in the States of this event is held in late October. It used to grant all kinds of sweets such as children (and some adults) travel from house to house. The problem is that some of these trick or treatment can not wait until I get home. So there are about begging in their bags, in darkness, falling, tasting and spit what I do not like, all for your dog to find later this week.
Antifreeze - I can say right now, it will lists all season, I write. In the fall, people are checking their antifreeze preparing for winter. If it spills on the floor and opens the way your dog in your situation is very bad and he or she needs immediate medical attention. When you receive your antifreeze try to get the animal is, if it can afford. Otherwise, make sure to clean the spill and dispose of any old material.
Mushrooms - Mushrooms can be a problem at any time of year, but it seems that in the fall actually emerging as the soil is moistened. There are all kinds of mushrooms, some are harmless and some are fatal. My dog had a love for mushrooms when I was a puppy and tried to break him of lucky. I believe that ultimately tied to eat the mushrooms with getting sick and stopped, we were fortunate. Avoid any mushrooms to your dog, even those that you eat, do not want Fido getting the "flavor" to them and then pick the wrong guy in the backyard buffet.
