1920s or 30s "Police Dog"?
I have a section for parents and that they had a "Police Dog" in the early 1930s. Is this a German Shepherd? Today we think of police dogs as herders, but I know he won popularity here after the First World War, so they were used as police dogs in the United States immediately after the First World War or were a different breed of dog used?
Everytime I have a client in 70 or 80, they ask "Is this a "German Police Dog"? So yes, it was a GSD.
