The dog breed Havanese is a cousin of the popular breed Bichon Frize dog. of their origins from Mediterranean, but the race is often synonymous with Cuba. This affiliation came after the Havanese traveled along the Mediterranean merchant ships from Europe and the Canaries for Cuba. Here, the Havanese has prospered and became much sought after. The race was held mainly by aristocrats until they are used in circuses (because of their quick wit and playful) and subsequently lost their dog standing. rich Havanese are also commonly known as the poodle Silk Spanish, or the Havana Silk Dog.
