Increase in crime .... need a guard dog?

There was a marked increase in crime in the Poconos, including the invasion domicile. Thus, we envision one or two guard dogs to our house. We have three children in our house 11, 9 and 6. Two acres of property forested. We plan to Doberman, German shepherd or Rottweiler breed. We are open to opinions on other races. Anyone care to speak or give advice on race? If we pay more and get a dog already trained in obedience and training of guard dogs? Etc. Also opinions and advice welcome. PS. I already have a security system including video surveillance. And I already have several weapons fire. So please keep opinions to guard dogs. The dog is intended to be a pet, do double duty as a watchdog be good with children. The dog is an early warning system and the first line of defense before resorting to firearms.

Get an alarm, the dogs are pets.
