Origin

Originally bred in Germany, believe that the boxer is Brabanter Bullenbessier descent. The Bullenbeisser was used by the elite to hunt wild boar in and around 1800 in order to prevent injury during the hunt, the ears were cut off.

As time passed the Bullenbeisser Barbanti has been used by cattle dealers, and in the late 1800s has been officially recognized as work class dog.
