I've Been Thinking About Getting An Irish Wolfhound, does anyone have comments on that?

I've seen on some websites about them, and many say different things.'m curious how long they usually live, and if they remain useful as hunting dogs since I'd like to hunt with me, and in general only if they are a good dog to have as a pet. Feel free to give any comments you have about Irish Wolfhounds, especially if you own / owner one.

It is illegal to hunt wolves or hunting of any animal for that matter, with a dog. Irish Wolfhounds will happen after the coyotes and some people's used to that. However, no reputable breeder in the world are able to sell a puppy that you want to learn to hunt with them. And with this race, you want to research breeders very, very carefully. Most of the lines in North America are very short - with 9 the highest. There are a couple of lines that claim to have the dogs living a little beyond that - a lot of research is needed. Like all dogs of view, are a generally healthy breed, very easy, great with kids and other dogs. They are a giant breed, however, so you need plenty of room for them - inside and out - wolfhound puppies are very clumsy. They are as playful as other puppies, but they take up soooo much room! They are big dogs, if you like giant breeds and can live with short life expectancy. Some of them, depending on the head, can be Droolers, also - something that is taken into account if you do not like dog slobber. You need to find a reputable breeder willing to be available to answer all questions and concerns you have about a wolf pup maturation.
