The domestic dog has been with us for thousands of years and became a multitude of races, each with distinct characteristics. These races are some of the most unusual and rare dogs in the world, including those listed below. However, if you decide you'd like to own a rare breed study, as much as you can about the animals before you buy.

Chinook: This is a working dog, dogsledding and raised in New England in 1920. He is a cross between a Husky and a mastiff. Each year about 100 pups are born around the world that is a clear indication of what this animal is rare. The Chinook is still operational, but mainly in the sled sports events and most of them are pets with a reputation for being friendly, very good with children and very relaxed. They are not aggressive but can be reserved with strangers. Prone to hip, eye problems and epilepsy, this dog may need special care when it matures.

Chow Chow: Chow is the lion of the dog family with his impressive mane and robust construction. It originated in Mongolia and is possibly one of the most ancient dog breeds, dating back to 150 BC. color language is a mixture of blue, black and purple, and is the only breed of dog with blue lips. Has a double layer very thick you need a lot of preparation. The Chow is disloyal to the family members and much to their masters the dog, but has a reputation for being aggressive with strangers. Prone Hip, knee and thyroid problems, the Chow may require special care as he grows.

Chinese Crested: There are two types of Chinese Crested dogs, one that almost is human like skin and hair just on top of the head, ear tips, paws in the formation of a sock, and the tail effect. The other type is known as a cloud of dust that has a double coat of very fine and soft skin. The two types are often found in the same litter. The variety of hair must be protected from burns sunny and dry skin. By contrast, the powder puff is very technical. Both types are playful, intelligent and good with children, but if you have children, you will have to monitor how they handle these dogs. Weighing less than 10 pounds and about 12 inches tall when grown, children accidentally could injure them if they play too rough. Of all the smaller breeds these dogs do not suffer from many diseases normally associated with toy breeds, but especially Care must be taken with dentistry and can be prone to eye problems.

Puli: This dog is very intelligent and usually does well in obedience trials. Its fur is wired and I felt like, instead of a rope like texture often seen in other breeds with similar coats. The Puli is very technical to stop the string mat and some owners prefer to cut their hair short instead of assuming the task of preparing endless. Originally a sheep dog of Hungary, the Puli has existed for more 1000 years. They make faithful companions, but they perceive the family as a herd to protect, hence the desire to maintain their distance from outsiders. This race is not prone to major health problems.

Ibizan Hound: This race is attractive, intelligent, athletic and a very good hunter. They are excellent family dogs and the good with children, but require a lot of exercise. To excel in jumping from a fixed position at high altitudes, which can be very fun to watch. This breed originated in Spain and has been widely used to hunt rabbits and other small animals, being able to run very fast on almost any type of ground. This breed is not prone to serious health defects, but may develop allergies. They are also hyper sensitive to anesthetics.
