Havanese

The Havanese is a small sturdy dog. It is slightly longer than tall. The Havanese coat is long, silky and wavy. He has a tail feather slightly curved bearing on the rump.

Size and Proportion

Havanese posts in a range from 8 ½ to 11 ½ inches high. The ideal height is between 9 and 10 ½ inches measured at the withers, and slightly less than the length from the tip of the shoulder to the tip of the buttock. His scheme is something of a rectangle instead of square. The Havanese should never appear fragile. A scissors bite is ideal. Full complement of incisors preferred.

Neck, topline and body

The neck is of moderate length and in balance with height and length of the Havanese. The neck is a slight arch and blending gently on her shoulders. The topline of a Havanese is straight but not level. The body measured from the point of shoulder to point of buttocks is slightly longer The height at the withers.
