Halloween Dog Costumes

Make a Cape Dog and matching Hat Dog in about 30 minutes!
This costume dog can be made for any holiday: Halloween, Christmas, Valentines Day, St. Patrick's Day, your Independence Day to name a few. Use fabric colors to match the particular festival.
QUICK DOG CAPE
Supplies and tools:
- About a yard of fabric. A medium-weight fabric Brilliant is the best
- Approximately 24 inches [600 mm] of matching or contrasting ribbon, rope or son
- Needle and thread or machine Sewing (optional)
- Have someone hold your dog while he or she is standing (use treatment or a favorite toy distraction if necessary)
- Take your fabric and drape it over the back of your dog from the neck area
- The material should cover your dog's shoulders and down at about the level of the belly of your dog, then go back to the base of the tail of your dog
- Cut any extra tissue and save for the hat. (If you intend to sew the seams on the sides, leaving a seam allowance)
- Take your wire binding (or tape) and cut two pieces about 12 inches [300 mm] long
- At each corner of the end collar, pick up a piece of cloth and tie your cord or ribbon tightly around her
- Put the cap on your dog and tie in a bow under the chin with your dog!
MATCHING DOG HAT
This is a hat shaped like a cone, like a party hat
Supplies and tools:
- An empty cereal box
- Scissors
- Yarn, ribbon or elastic cord
- A stapler or tape
- Nail or punch a hole
- Glue (optional)
- Cut a rectangle box grains, about 8 x 5 inches [200 x 125 mm]
- Fold the cardboard so that it forms a cone
- A tape or a staple at the fold
- Cut the bottom level - this will be a little shorter - check to see if it is between the ears of your dog - adjust as necessary
- Fabric glue to cover the cone or ribbon on the fabric inside
- Drill holes in each side near the bottom
- Thread the wire or tape through, tie the knot inside the cone hide
- Try it on your dog cape with matching
Voila! Your dog costume is ready fast!
IMPORTANT:
Never leave your dog unattended when he or she wears a dress dog!
