The Golden Retriever is typically sports, well balanced and symmetrical in appearance. This is reflected in its output cheerful temperament, in fact is not this dog aggressive or grumpy. This large breed very similar to the yellow Labrador retriever, especially when young. The most obvious difference is that shelter is the Golden Retriever Luxury and varies in shades of yellow gold.

The breed was first developed in the British Isles by Lord Tweedmouth of Scotland. He wanted the perfect dog breed. Wanted that the characteristics of a dog that was intelligent, loyal, attractive, insightful, and a sturdy, agile hunting dog that could retrieve waterfowl under conditions extreme humidity and cold. The end result was the Golden Retriever.

The Golden Retriever has feathers, half-length, cream to cover gold, which can be straight or slightly wavy. They are beautiful, sturdy, well proportioned dogs. Their fur is water repellent and the layer is dense and flat against his stomach. It is characterized by a strong head, ample, a decrease in width, muzzle powerful and a scissors bite with a clear frontal stop. Soft black nose, dark eyes that are brown with dark borders, the ears are medium sized and shaped pendants, neck and thighs are muscular and broad chest with long straight tail.

Golden Retrievers in general, achieve its maximum height in about a year old and weight that they attain in the time they are two years, although its nature puppyish can stay with them for life. The height standard is about 56-61 cm (22-24 inches) at withers for males, and about 51-56 cm (20-22 inches) for women. Proportionally the weight 29-34 kg (65-75 lbs) for males and 27-32 kg (60-70 lb) for women.

Today's Golden Retrievers fall into two groups: English and American. These are but variations of the Golden Retriever breed as a whole, and the difference is only on aesthetics. English dogs are easily recognized, since long, cream light-colored layers that appear white at times. They are big boned, short, with a square head, muzzle. These are more common in Europe. A golden retriever breeding English can have layers in all shades of gold or cream, but not red or mahogany. A few white hairs on the chest are acceptable.

Moreover, the Golden Retrievers of America vary widely in color. Maintain the level of their hunting ground of ancestors and lanky look characterized by a tall body and long legs. Their jackets are in colors darker gold than gold English and are quite similar to that of the Irish Setter.

Generally, this breed of dog likes being around people and are happier then. But isolated from human contact, or left alone for long, the Golden Retriever may become mischievous and very able to start things from the house. It is known to be too exuberant and easily distracted.

But because you care so much, owners find that they make excellent companions and are very easily trainable. Many schools that train guide dogs for the blind choose the golden retriever for his qualities.
