Golden Retriever Dog Breeders

When choosing a new Labrador puppy, do not forget to watch the dog's temperament, likes and dislikes. Choosing a good breeder when getting a new dog is a very important step. You can avoid getting a dog with poor health, poor temperament, or lack of socialization. This ultimately can cost you money and grief.

A good breeder is selective about the people they send their puppies at home with. They raise healthy, happy dogs in terms of cleanliness and humane. Ask your veterinarian for a referral or communicate with local clubs Labrador. You should be able to visit the plant breeder to see where the puppy was born and raised.

Here are some recommendations from the Humane Society for things to watch when you choose a breeder:

Find someone that keeps the dogs at home rather than outside in runs dog. You should be able to see where the dogs spend their time and it should be clean and well maintained. Dogs must be well fed with premium dog food.

Instead of having puppies available all the time, find a farmer who keeps a list of interested parties. Then when a litter arrives, these people on the list are contacted.

A good breeder has a good relationship with a veterinarian and should have the medical records of their dogs.

A good breeder should be able to give advice and assistance to care for your puppy once you take him home.

They should be able to provide references to other who purchased Labrador puppies from them.

They should be associated with local clubs and Labrador in May to compete in dog shows or competitions obedience.

They must provide a written contract and a health guarantee.

Often good Labrador breeders ask questions because they want their puppies to go home only the best. Some questions they might ask are:

Why do you want a dog?

Who will be primarily responsible for the custody of the dog?

Who will train the dog?

Do you have a veterinarian?

Will you castration or neutering the dog?

Want to join the dog to the breeder if you can not keep?
