If you have recently opened a new puppy in your family, you may be realizing how much work taking care of a puppy needs, and you may also realize that it would be in your best interest to give your puppy some dog training base. You can either train the puppy yourself or hire a professional trainer to do it for you.

As with everything there are pros and cons with both methods. A coach can become very expensive and you also have to transport your dog from the site and coach, but the experienced coach in this type of work. On the other hand, if you train your dog yourself, you can do virtually load free and you can also do so in comfort and convenience of your own home, but you must acquire some knowledge on the proper training before a dog, you can start.

The three basic principles of dog training is fairly simple. They include the commands sit, stay and come. A useful tool for teaching these bases is a kind of dog treat, like a biscuit. The first and easiest of the three of these commands is to teach your dog to sit. The best way to start is to first choose a place that has little or no distraction to your dog, such as your living room when nobody else, but is around you and the dog, and television or radio is not screaming. Then you should just show the dog treat in your hand and hold it over of the dog's head while repeating the command "sit" again and again. Defending high will force your dog to sit and look place to see deal. If this does not make your dog sit, just gently push the bottom down until seated, and once he is simply giving her treats, some stroking his head, and some praise. This will ultimately strengthen the idea that the command "sit" is associated with treatment and praise.

The second command is "stay." This command should be taught once your dog has mastered the command session. It's a bit more difficult than "sitting" because the natural instinct of your dog is following you everywhere. Make your dog sit in one place that you start off gradually. As you walk, repeat the word "stay" again and again. You must also maintain visual contact with your dog, and if he tries to get up and walk on you, simply and firmly say "no" and repeat procedure. As this is an order more difficult, it takes patience and a lot more time, and it may actually be useful if you have someone else who can help you organize your dog while you walk away. Once your dog has learned the "stay" command while maintaining eye contact with you, the next step is to walk your dog without looking. The same process applies. When your dog gets up to follow, just say "no" and repeat the process. As the process of the meeting, do not forget the awards and praise.

The final order, and a little easier, is to "come". Once your dog has mastered the stay command while you walk, you can teach him this final order. After leaving for a short distance, simply turn your dog, pat your legs, and very happily say: "Come." Your dog will surely follow this prompt, and when he does, give him lots of praise and also a delight. Remember, praise and reward are much better for you and your dog, that dogs respond much better to positive rather than negative reinforcement. Following these basic dog training will surely leave you with a happy and obedient dog, and it makes you proud to know that you're the one who made him that way.
