What do you think of The ?...? perfect dog

I recently bought Don Sullivan secrets to training the perfect dog together. It seems a little cruel when it copies the dog did not do as told. Has anyone else tried it? Does it work? My dog does not do as he says. Treat training does not work with him as he does not like sweets. Ideas? It seems to get worse as he gets older (he is 10 years old) He hates men and other dogs.
