Summer is now in full giving the dogs more opportunities to play with their owners. Frisbees are flying, dog parks are crawling and fetch is open season. All this fun with our dogs, hot days of summer is great for owners and pets alike, but the heat can cause problems such as exhaustion, dehydration, sunburn and heat stroke, and humans are not the only ones at risk. The dogs are equally sensitive to heat. Think what it would be like if you have thick hair all over his body. Pamper your pup this summer additional keeping cool in hot weather.

Dehydration is a simple problem to solve for humans or domestic animals alike. The answer is water. Be sure your dog drinks water regularly. Your dog needs unlimited access to cool drinking water. Maintaining hydration is also the starting point to prevent heat from several other related issues.

Heat exhaustion is running with dogs are exercised when it is hot or very wet. They are also more prone to burnout if they are overweight, stay outside without shade or suffer from lung or heart problems. The symptoms may even escalate into heatstroke, which can cause death. There are several specific things you can do as an owner other than the provision of water to prevent the possibility of heat exhaustion or stroke.

Especially in summer, try not to let your dog in the car for any reason. Temperatures in cars can rise to 120 degrees. Even if you run a board for a few minutes, thinking from the air running, and if your dog spends most of his time outside in the backyard, make sure there is room for the cool shade all day. If your dog regularly exercises with you, pay close attention to his rhythm. Do not push the dog run faster if it begins to lag, especially if it is not characteristic of your dog.

The two main cooling systems in dogs lie on their language and on their legs. For this reason, fresh water to drink, and cold surfaces to get up and slept on can all the difference. Try not to force your pet to stand on the sun baked surfaces such as cement, metal or sand. This not only prevents the cooling but it can also cause blisters on paw pads.

Most owners never considered their dog a sunburn, but the dogs are particularly prone to burning on his nose, ears and lips. The simplest solution to prevent sunburn is to keep your dog in the shade during most of the heat hours of the day, but if you stay in the sun with your dog during these hours, a little sun lotion will not block pain. A little on the nose and ears will do.

Summer is a time when pets and owners alike can stretch their legs and enjoy the outdoors. Do not let the heat you get. Instead, to prevent problems caused by heat with a little more planning and consideration. Your dog will love you for it, as they do everything else.
