1. RSS is provided free by most site and you can do what you want with them - True or False?

Answer: False

Why you request in May, most RSS feeds are from original articles blog site that owns the feed, and although they provide information free you do not have copyrights for reuse in any way or make derivative works from without giving credit appropriate to the original as stipulated in the Digital Millennium Copyright laws protecting intellectual property on the Internet. Go check it out at Google.

2. Feeds can be re-used provided you give credit to the original authors - True or False?

Answer: False (what now!)

Well, I'm sorry to say folks still can not re-use or derive son RSS in all cases except if the claimant had initially indicated that his son feeds are published in some form of "attribution" license such as Creative Commons. Without this license agreement of the author's original feed may legally file a lawsuit for copyright intellectual property.

3. RSS may be useful to attract traffic to your site - True or False

Answer: False (you're probably thinking: "The man now, you're crazy how can that be wrong")

Well, let me clarify how it works. The son is RSS from real sites or blogs that have more traffic and pagerank already explored by the robots of search engines like Google, Yahoo and Bing (the good old MSN Live Search). Thus, the content of gasoline is already bound to an existing Web site on the Internet world. So when these search engines these are contained in a different location like your blog derivative of someone else misusing RSS feed (no offense), then the search sanction this duplicate content and decrease the page rank of that site by double derivative. This concept was developed recently to give a lot of headaches for SEO (optimization for search engines) specialists. So, do not reuse any other RSS feeds from my friend. Never Ever!
