Hand stripping must be conducted prior to bathing the dog. There are different races that require stripping instead of clipping or shear. The majority of these dogs were terrier breeds, although some breeds Setter require hand stripping as well.

English Setters and Irish Setters are two races that should never be truncated. Cut their hair turns into a single mass destruction and their curly silky appearance and smooth.
