Training session for dogs with children - Would you enroll your children in training for them and your family dog?

I think the organization seminars for children and their family dogs, teaching children how to train and work with their dog. We want to cover things like basic commands such as SIT and sneaky tricks and games too. Is this something that you register your child? If yes, how long each class should be? How many weeks if the course is in place? How much does the course cost? What are your concerns? Any ideas or suggestions? Thank you!

We do not like the idea of combining a large number of children and many dogs who do not know each other in the same room - even if their parents are there, but ... Here are some suggestions: Dogs usually can not concentrate on training for more than 15 minutes at a time, so I limit classes to 30 minutes. Run classes for about 6 weeks to see how everyone does. You can always extend the classes later if you want. People who have children do not have much money to spend on training dogs to limit the cost to about $ 20 per session. Concerns: You'd better have lots of liability insurance to cover injuries, accidents, or bites that occur. Liability issues up with each child and the dog was added to the mixture. Children are often "strong" and "unpredictable" around dogs they do not know and the dogs go crazy in May with all of the over-stimulation provided by children. Keep in mind that parents can not look both their human children and their fur-child at the same time. Misadventures tragedies can occur in one second ... Do not leave any dog in the class that is not up to date on all vaccines (including rabies and bordatella). This means, no dogs under 4 months old. Do not let the female dog in the class who are pregnant or in heat. Having an orientation class without children or dogs first - just the parents and dog owners - to make them know what is expected of them in classrooms, what behaviors are allowed / disallowed, where the "time-out corner is, what kind of discipline you will allow Children and dogs (corporal punishment, adverse, etc.), how to "read" body language of a dog, etc. ... Having a detailed plan already written when the dogs begin to fight, including all your emergency numbers for ambulance / veterinary / etc. Make sure that everyone signs off on a document that specifies what the course entails, what you charge and what they charge. Take a field here ... We wish you the best.
