Do you travel with your pets? How I love camping trips with my animals! We have just returned from hiking explorations of the Chain of Wind River Mountains Teton and the Gros Ventre Range. Cinnamon, our cat, and Maddie, our dog, travel with us. Maddie is sooo energetic. The few people we spent on the slopes will comment on her energy and joy.
"Now this dog has some hunting in it! ", Commented one man stole Maddie and across the grassy meadow. Well, we're not hunters, but I'm sure Maddie would not mind at all if we were. Watching run and do its own form of hunting is a beautiful thing to watch and brings smiles on our faces. This is a picture of Maddie and I at the top of Coal Creek - Mesquite fracture with the back of the Grand Teton in the background.
My nephew, Brad and his girlfriend, Lauren, traveled to Boise, Idaho to meet us in the Wind River range in Wyoming before Tom, my husband and I drive north again, in Wyoming. Of course, Brad has brought his black Labrador, Drake and Lauren brought her dog, Moose. You see here with Maddie Drake enjoying his hot dog daily treat me at our campsite. It was an adventure in itself get 4 men, 2 big black labs, a shiatsu, and a cat in a small camper for dinner?
And who says that dogs can not go on long walks with the big dogs? Here the solution Lauren Moose few tired legs, but this does not prevent him from traveling to Green Lakes trail to the river with the rest of us!
My favorite must be 16 years old my cat, Cinnamon, who gets the most courageous annually. Here, you'll see how she looks out the window truck in Pinedale, Wyoming, a first for her since she started traveling with us at age 12. She used hiding in his litter box in the back seat during all stops. Who says an old cat can not learn to have new adventures?
I do not want to miss these trips with my special animal. Now I know why so many people travel in campers and recreational vehicles, because most of them have at least one animal, usually a dog, and for the ride. It's cheaper, too. You do not have to pay a kennel or guardian pet to care for them while you are away. You get the added joy of their presence while you're on vacation, and you should not worry about them while you are away with them right under your nose.
