Parachute cord is an awesome rope that has many uses! This tutorial will teach you how to weave a dog leash, using four strands of parachute cord.

Getting Started

Paracord decrease when it is wet, so before you start braiding your leash, the paracord MUST be pre-shrunk. Do this by soaking the paracord in forums hot water five minutes, then hang to dry. You can speed the drying process by placing the wet paracord in a pillowcase, tying closed, and place it in the dryer.

We will bea a five foot leash, with an allowance of five inches for a handle loop. To determine how much paracord you'll need to break the duration of your project in inches, multiply by four. 65 "X 4 = 260" so I'll need 2 separate paracord strands that are each 260 "long.

Tools You will need

These tools are essential when braiding with paracord. You'll need two clamps hemostat, a C-clamp, scissors, tape measure flexible and a small wood burning tool.

STEP 1 - Organize cords

Thea Take A C-clamp to fix the software component Plug the table top so that my work is stable. You can also use a piece of paracord and attach the snap to a table leg, crawls the stairs or anything else that is stable. However, using this method will Twist your work and can be frustrating for the beginner. But ask two pieces of paracord side by side on the ring of the snap. The two strands on the left side of the ring will be called A and B, A being the rope in front and B cord to the back. The two strands on the right side of the ring will be called C and D, C being the cord before and D, the cord to the back.

Crossa B behind the braid and then cross stepa A. The next step will be the Cross-C, behind the braid and then cross B. You will always add to the braided strand of paracord that is above all other components. Continue until you've woven 65 "or finished braid. Use your flexible measuring tape, measure from the beginning snap to the end of the braid over.

STEP 5 - clamping Off The Braid

STEP 6 - Measurement of the braid to the loop Handle

From the end of the braid, measures five inches and bend over the cord. Consider the braid to see where the component B through the braid, and prick your hemostat other below. Open the hemostat, the adherence of cord B and hemostat closed. Now, you pull the cord B throughout the braid.

STEP 7 - Back Braid Move two

You can now remove the hemostat, which secures the end of the braid. Locate the component D which crosses the braid which is closer to B. Poke through the hemostat, spinal D loose grip, the hemostat and pull all D long.

STEP 8 - Back Braid move three

Locate the ACC, which passes through the braid and repeat step 7.

STEP 9 - Back Braid move four

The final step is to locate where thea An industry depends by the braid and repeat step 7.

Step 10 - Finishing The Back Braid

Step 11 - Finishing The Loop Handle End

Now that you've finished your back braid, you need to complete the ends properly. Take your scissors and cut the strings near the braid. It is now time to plug your tool wood and a few minutes to allow heat. The burner Wood is usually three to five minutes to get hot enough to melt the paracord. To melt the cord properly, gently run the stove wood during spinal sectioned in a sweeping motion. To make your leash look good, melt the cord against the cord the same color that is directly below. Before turning colors, quickly slide the edge of the wood burner over a damp cloth to clean it. Do it carefully, because the tip gets very hot!
