Shabbat for Jews Question: Is this stuff allowed on Shabbat?

Ok, so I was just curious. I'm hoping to convert to Judaism one day. and I was owndering today (since tomorrow is Friday) how I could spend my Shabbat. Things I would do to pass the time, to be read, I'm pretty sure it's ok. I spent a lot of writing too. but it is considered the writing work? writing in a journal or writing a story for fun? and also like to do these bracelets.http woven friendship: / / ny-image2.etsy.com/il_430xN.12331010.jpg weaving would be considered work or tying the knot? or am I just taken too far ...? thank you guys. and if you have other things you're not supposed to do that would be great to share with me. you are right walking your dog? or play hockey? ssoccer practice? kicking the ball ...? thank you again. I know someplace Tomorrow will be Shabbat so that's OK. I'll wait til Sunday.

As far as Orthodox Judaism is concerned, reading is very good. Writing of any kind is not allowed. Weave bracelets are also prohibited (no more than braiding hair, for that matter). Regarding walking a dog, the views that many say is allowed, even without an eruv as you use a leash very short (less than 4 feet), if you do if the pet can relieve himself. But Kicking around a ball or other games that are regarded as accounting can be done within an eruv, or home, and there are some opinions that even when it is authorized, it is not in the spirit of Shabbat and should not be done. Here's the thing, though - for now I think you are looking at a long list of "do not do and I was wondering how you'll pass the time. Especially since now you live in a house not Jewish and have little (if any) religious Jewish friends. So you want May there is this huge gap of time that you approached your own bridge if everyone does things secular. But the truth is, when you reach your conversion, you've met many people in the Jewish community that await you with open arms. You'll be invited over for Shabbat dinner and later abandoned just pass the time. You really will not be alone, except If you decide you want to be - when you start looking for a rabbi and a synagogue to advise you of your conversion, you do not take the first one you see - you can shop around until you find a community that feels welcoming and friendly, and all you have to do is leave The Rebbetzin know that you are looking for a place to go for Shabbat, and it will give you an invitation somewhere (do not be embarrassed or shy - most of them religious Jews, accommodation of foreigners for a meal is a joy, and we're always too much food). Much of what makes it so special Shabbat is sitting around the table with family and friends, singing songs and discuss Torah and the latest current events, and then suspended after stroke and talk a little more. So even if we do a lot of reading and games (there are many backgammon and Othello demons in the Orthodox Community) and go for long walks, mostly passes quickly over long meals. Besides, as you age, you must also learn to appreciate the joys of Shabbat long NAP)
