Care

The Black Russian Terrier has a coat that is weather resistant, which is hard, wavy hair and nervous. These dogs also have eyebrows and beard, and they sub-layers are well developed and tight. They should be trimmed on a regular basis 2-3 times a year, and grooming professional is essential for this breed. If the hair is soft, it should be stripped - but only then. The Black Russian Terrier should be brushed a times during the week, and excessive hair should be removed from their ears and legs. These dogs shed very little hair, especially if brushed regularly.

Training

Black Russian Terriers enjoy their training, seeing their love for their master, please. This dog will only bark, when really necessary. Black Russian Terrier take some time to mature, but when trained in the right direction, they will not be faced with a position dominant. It is easy to have these dogs in the house, and they take little care. It is not ideal to have them in a kennel outside the house as they will be too little attention and stimulation. The best qualities of this dog will be on display if they remain in close contact with the family.

Health Issues

This dog tends to have health problems such as dysplasia of the hip and elbow inflammation the external ear canal and also the deterioration of the retina that can lead to gradual loss of vision.
