Some parents we live in a big old arts and crafts style house with dark wood paneling, a large hall, a staircase balustrade and carved stone fireplace. It's a bit dark inside for my taste, but when it is decorated for Christmas every year, it becomes somewhat a magical place. They have a large and heavily decorated Christmas tree in the hall, and lots of extra lights twinkling around the stairs and along the rail, old style and image panels. With the fire and the main lights dimmed, a scene right out of a one of these cards traditional Victorian Christmas.
Their home became a focal point for celebrations of Christmas for their family and close friends. Early Christmas morning, it became a tradition that many families can get together, and stack their Christmas gifts under the tree to make a lot of impressive colors. We all stay for brunch on Christmas morning around the fire before thoughts turn to preparing the Christmas meal. The highlight of the morning, of course, is the opening of this.
A few years ago one of the grandfathers was persuaded to dress as Santa Claus in a suit Father Christmas to distribute Christmas presents under the Christmas tree. He chose a traditional red velvet Santa suit with white cuffs, a beard large white, wide black belt and black boots. It was bought ready made, and was of excellent quality at a very affordable price. He a small hand Bell, and to call everyone to attention. That sort of looks like a jolly Santa Claus, even without a Santa Claus outfit, and wearing off the role with gusto to the delight of all children. Having Santa Claus himself distribute Christmas presents enormous added to the pleasure of being seen on the faces of children. A very realistic Santa Claus, the focus is on Christmas morning, each collection year a very special event that everyone waits impatiently for weeks to come.
The Christmas costume idea was a so successful that everyone now at least has a Christmas hat of some sort, most of Santa hats in different styles, Elf hats with large ears or reindeer antlers. There were some variations of these traditional themes, like the Grinch occasional Dr. Seuss books and film, or Jack Skellington Film The Nightmare Before Christmas. Even the family pet was his dog Santa hat.
Last year, one of the youngest mothers who help Santa sort the donations came in a sexy costume look very Christmas red and white. There was much speculation among the menfolk as to whether this new Fashion inspires other mothers to join her this year.
The grandfather was so loved as a Father Christmas, he also brought his Father Christmas costume for help with a children's hospital visit and a couple of other community activities planned before Christmas to Christmas, as well.
