Do not underestimate the little dogs. Many of them are very adaptable and flexible. They can survive in almost all types of environments, as long as they are provided with food, water, a good place to sleep, and of course, attention and love the owner.
Small dogs are also excellent companions for people living in condominiums, apartments, and other tight spaces. Besides the fact that their size is certainly an advantage, they require less maintenance for the owner.

1. American Bulldog. Also called the bulldog English, muscled and strong dog can actually jump as high as 6 feet. It is also known to be a very loyal companion and thus makes an excellent watchdog. It does offer thank you to strangers, but you can train them to become obedient. American Bulldogs are happy races. They love being around people, and take extreme care to children. They are also low maintenance and does not shed hair frequently. While they can still walk around the house or be trained to use the treadmill, The American Bulldog can survive inside an apartment house.
2. Chihuahuas. At first look, Chihuahuas seem to be very shy and gentle races. However, they tend to bark loudly, especially when they are agitated or threatened by a great big dog or person. Therefore, you may want to show your neighbors your pet, hoping that this will prevent him from making noise during ungodly hours. However, Chihuahuas are great for apartment housing because they do not require constant walking outside the house. Just for them to go out to the jar breaks. You may want to occupy, but with lots of dog toys.
3. Pugs Pug. Race are ideal when you have close neighbors who could also take the dogs too. Because they are very sociable and friendly. They are not noisy at all, unless something really bothers them (which should be a cause for concern for you). They also do not need to be exercised regularly, but they dislike short walks outside. You just need to be wary of their flat nose, which can cause respiratory problems, especially during summer.
4. Bassets. Bassets are generally a quiet breed. If they tend to be noisy, you can easily train to be calm and peaceful. They love to please people, especially their owners, and are the best companions of couch potatoes. The problem with dachshunds, however, is their return. They can actually develop back pain if you're living above ground level.
Whichever race you choose, you should make a point to ask the owner first if it's okay to make a pet with you. This is to avoid any issue which may cause conflicts.
