Race Schnauzer question ...?

I live in an urban area, but near a dog park. I want to save a dog, and found a pug. What is the thing plucking? It sounds disgusting Are Schnauzers ok with other dogs? Are they willing to please? Easy to own? Ok it will always be on a leash - I do not have a backyard. Also, I read that dog did not need a bath. Can I give him a bath when same? He needs to feel good to be home. Thank you.
