What is your favorite Poodle Mix? And where can I adopt one?

Where I come from the SPCA has mainly pitbull mixes and such ... not what my wife and children are searching for .. However, I do not buy a dog in a pet shop or puppy mill .... all recommendations "good" breeders? However, the shelters that poodle mix or other similar "muts"? and what are your favorite mixes, and where I can readily adopt one? BTW I am from Montreal. But a little road trip would be fun!
