Dogs come in all shapes and sizes to take pet family. There are always dog lovers out there who have a favorite breed, but how do you know what you may like if you do not know the specifics of races. If you've never really been with dogs, you should always find as much information as possible about them, including races that are available and how you interact with them. The Papillon dog breed is considered a toy. It is one of the smaller dogs from the list. You will see that it is a race older in European history.

Dating back to the sixteenth century, you find the Papillon was considered a lap dog for most of the nobility in Europe. The name means butterfly in French translation and when you see this dog, you will understand why it is an appropriate name. The ears are really like the scope of a wind butterfly shape and hair that grows around them. In fact, one could argue that their ears are actually bigger than their faces. You will find this dog is nine to ten pounds and is about eight to eleven inches. They have one of the most beautiful coats in the dog races too. They are usually white with patches of black, Tan and other colors. The hair is long and almost silky. You will see that they are soft and caressing their hair will be a little longer that most breeds of dogs. Fortunately, the hair does not grow on their long legs, but they are quite soft in appearance all around.

Like most dog breeds in the toy category, you find the Papillon dog to be very playful, alert, and affectionate. They are also well known for elegance. They do not make a great guard dog because they tend to be too affectionate with everyone. You see they are not timid or aggressive. They enjoy being the center of attention, and despite their size you will find them to be very robust. She likes to have great affection and does not good with the bad treatment, so older children are recommended before adding Butterfly to your family. You will also find they may be a little protection to the family or owner, but they can never be dangerous.

Training is one of the more easier than you have with this breed of dog. Most dogs can display a stubborn during training, but not the Butterfly. They are eager to learn and as complex problems for their intelligence. If you are the hope of integrating them into a family, you will need a little socialization training on other animals. They tend to be the protector and seeking attention, which may cause problems. You will find what is often a show dog or used for therapy because of their temperament. You will also find they must have daily exercise if you hope to stay healthy and happy. They need not have a yard space or parks that they can go to play and run. You should never leave the dog in the yard unattended though. They tend to have trouble escaping.

Care for your Papillon requires weekly grooming hair. They are excretory medium and they tend to be somewhat blurred during the week. You will also find they are prone to ear problems and legs need to be trimmed at appropriate intervals. Health issues that you may find with these dogs are cataract, dislocation petalla, and Von Willebrands disease.
