Believe it or not, you can teach an old dog new tricks! Most of the stuff you see the dog on TV or in film are relatively complete simple once you break them down to their basic components. Teaching the dog complicated tricks step by step the most efficient way to have your work dog the same trick and developed rapidly as a positive experience. Punishing dogs for not learning the tricks will actually harm your chances of animal learning of the ruse. Dogs learn new tricks and commands by praise and social interactions, not by punishment. Keep in mind that all dogs are physically fit to perform all the tricks, and try to watch for activities that your dog does naturally that are close to the tricks that you want them to order.
Tricks generally should be taught after the dog has an understanding of basic orders come, sit, down and stay. Without these basic commands understanding and tracking more complex, more difficult and frustrating for both the dog and owner.
Wearing items
Many people love their dogs wear clothes, hats, sunglasses, bandanas or even complete theme items or costumes. Dogs by nature are not always happy with this decision. Start desensitizing or training your dog to tolerate these items having the dog sit and gradually moving the item toward the dog. Praise the dog as an object receives gradual rapprochement before the dog begins to recede. As the dog is comfortable with the item it may be brought against the agency.
Only allow the item to be on the dog for very short periods at first. Praise the dog to bring the matter to them begin to associate the port's point of pleasure and attention. Gradually extend the amount of time the position is on the dog.
Speaking
Most dogs will naturally bark, but they learn to do it on command requires a little patience. Have the dog sit or your side and hold out a treat or a toy just beyond normal range of dog. Say "Speak" and immediately reward the dog when they make any noise. Once that the dog understands that you want them they will bark usually taken very quickly. Crawling
Exploration is a kind of behavior that often occurs when owners try to teach a dog to remain supine. Often, the dog stays "down", but does not stay put, rather they do a belly crawl on the floor. Rather than punishing the dog for this behavior why not include it as a trick. When you notice the dog crawling, simply say "Crawl" This will help learn dog creep means that you move down and stay put means.
Jumping
Jumping like barking, is very natural for dogs. Be sure to check with your veterinarian to make sure it is safe for your dog to jump on command. Start with a break down not more than the dog's legs from the ground with their bellies. Run with the dog and jump over a stick or broom handle placed across two planks or blocks at the right height. The stride before the jump to just say "Jump" or "Up." Praise the dog immediately. As the dog begins to understand try to increase the height or modify the device jumping. To teach a dog to jump through a hoop to mount the hoop along the ground after having mastered the jump command and run the same exercise. Once they are comfortable jumping or walking through the hoop take your hand and gradually climb higher.
Always take care when teaching tips a dog jumping in particular, that the dog not weigh or overexerting itself. If race is subject to any kind of joint or bone conditions Jumping is never recommended.
