How do I prevent my dog to stop his run outside the ring in competition obedience?

We went to a show obedience and it was great I mean we've lost 2 points for heeling and Figure 8 and 1 point of heel and free last year was the recall and he started coming forward and then made a bee line to the door so that NQ we did it perfect on the seat and downs. The day before he started dating but eventually came forward we qualified, but I lost some important points about the recall our score was188.5 He tried to leave the ring trials rally too, but since he is headed on I can coax back. He is 2 years and has been training about 15 months, I do not know what to do any advice would be great! We will settle for a CD, I am new to obedience sport.

It sounds not ready and needs more work. Go to an amusement of some games where you can correct your dog. I would not go to tests until you know he will not leave the ring or he will learn that he can do whatever he wants in the ring.
