Dog Agility is a sport in which handler directs a dog off leash in an obstacle course in a race for time and accuracy. Obstacle course consist in various tunnels, jumps, a tire jump, weave poles, pause table where the dog must sit or lie down for a count of five seconds, and barriers the dog must climb. The first performance dog agility was as entertainment at the Crufts dog show in 1978 and became a success that is gaining popularity worldwide. It shows the dog's ability to be versatile, fast and agile. All types and breeds of dogs may join the sport. Even children and puppies are encouraged to attend this event. If you do not want to compete and want to get agile just for fun, you can do in classrooms not competitive agility.
In a training course for agility, obedience training is the key basis. The dogs are trained to obey their owner or manager. Dogs must know and obey different commands such as SIT, stop, or stop, fix and other commands that can be used during the course of agility. Dog agility equipment is required during training.
