The Chihuahua is the smallest breed of dog in the world and is the oldest race in America. The breed derives its name from the state of Chihuahua in Mexico, where it was discovered in 1850. It is believed that the Chihuahua is descended from Chinese hairless dogs that crossed from Asia to Alaska on a land bridge before separating the mainland and grew up with the Aztecs Techichi dog. One handgun was registered by the American Kennel Club in 1905.

They are well known for their small size, large eyes and large ears. Their coat comes in two varieties, good and long term. The variety has a soft fur coat Short, shiny, soft on the whole body is thinner on the head and ears while the long coat has a soft, long, sometimes very thin layer which can be slightly curly or flat. Both types of coat have a variety of colors including fawn, black, brown and white. There are many color models and blends including Blue Brindle and Chocolate and Tan.

The Chihuahua is known for his fierce commitment, loyalty, ferocity and personality. They become extremely attached to one or two people and they become very protective. Their small size they are suitable for an apartment that their need for exercise can be met indoors with toys and play sessions, although they enjoy the daily walks with their owners. They can adapt to life in most environments, but they are not good with children or other animals as they may bite if frightened they seem to have no concept of size and will attack larger animals, which often results in injury. They are wary of strangers who are good dogs custody. Chihuahuas are often regarded as very nervous, but if they are properly trained, they can become excellent companions.

They may be difficult to train, but with a good dose of patience and commitment they can do well. They need positive reinforcement and intensive socialization is essential at an early age. Owners must be careful not to overfeed Chihuahuas because it can lead to diabetes, old injuries and bronchitis. The race also need veterinary care for things such as delivery care and dental care. These dogs are prone to painful condition called Hyrocephalus which can be diagnosed by the puppy having a swollen head, it will also be lethargic and grow more slowly than the brothers and sisters. Race is also known for its moleras an air hole in the skull, they are the only breed to be born without a complete skull. The Molera filled with age but great care must be taken during the first six months until the skull is fully formed.

Chihuahuas are not at risk hypoglycemia can lead to coma if unattended. They were also known to suffer from eye infections due to their large eyes and storage low ground. The breed has a tendency to tremble but this is not a health issue, it normally occurs when the dog is stressed or excited. They are more long life of a dog and can live to 18 years.
