The Bichon Frize was a favorite in Spain. Becoming the favorite of painters. Goya presented the Bichon in a number of paintings.
It was developed in the Mediterranean area.
He made his appearance in the Canary Islands under Francis I, a patron of Renaissance, but the biggest success was in the Court of Henry III.
He became a favorite of the Italian nobility in the 14th century.
Descendant Barbet or Water Spaniel.
It was used as a barter item by the sailors.
