hybrid cross of v?

I see people advertising "hybrid" puppies for sale .. such as designer breeds. Pug X Beagle Dachshund X chi, etc. I always thought, and correct me if im wrong, but I think a hybrid is a cross between two different species - Like a domestic dog and wolf, domestic dog and a coyote, etc. hybrid - a cross between two different species, right? did not breed designer be considered "hybrid" and not "hybrid"?? I thought that domestic dogs have all the same species. arrrgh, I'm so confused. any suggestions?

The term hybrid can be used for any mix. I'm going past fields full of corn every day marked "hybrid". I do not think they are mixing corn with something other than corn. May be a hybrid between two species and is especially how it is used, but not always. He fell out of favor with many people, even the community X wolf dog wolves calling their critters rather the wolf hybrid. I am ready to give people the benefit of the doubt on this one.
