Where some good places to take your dog?

I hear people all the time who take their dogs with them wherever they go, but it seems that nowhere around her (I live in San Diego) allows the exception of dogs as Petco, Petsmart, feeding areas for pets in general, parks, dog beach, so many restaurants that I saw with terraces around here do not allow dogs so I think it out ...
